The item I purchased was a chain with a medal of St. Peregrin, the patron saint of cancer victims. The medal and chain were both sterling silver. Now how does one answer some the questions you posed when they don't really apply to this item? It was a gift for my sister and she was thrilled with it. It was a beautiful medal. I am a happy customer. There! That about says it all.
