Necklace chain came in knots an broke

I planned on wearing the pendant everyday, however it came shipped to me in knots and broke 1 week after wearing, it's been sitting in the box since, the clasp does not close completely w/o maneuvering, I'm glad I found it on the floor in an urban city hospital of detroit.
