In the web photo of the ring, it seemed darker/as a contrast with the thin bad of 14K gold around the ruby. This will be a gift for our granddaughter on her 13th Birthday this July, her birthstone.|I like the weight of the ring, a very nice weight, not too light, not too heavy.|The ruby is a bit too "pinky", I would have like it to be a darker red.|All in all, my husband & I think it is a lovely
